Types of Slopes | Natural, Artificial, Finite, Infinite

Infinite Slope: The type of slope extending infinitely, or upto an extent whose boundaries are not well defined. For this type of slope the soil properties for all identical depths below the surface are same. In the making of natural slopes, thier is no contribution from our side.

What is Allowable Bearing Capacity

It is the maximum pressure which may be applied to the soil such that the two fundamental requirements are satisfied Limiting the settlement to a tolerable amount. It is the net loading intensity at which neither the soil fails in shear nor there is excessive settlement which may be harmful for the structure preventing shear failure of soil.

Methods of Pile Installation

Piles are relatively long and slender members used to transmit foundation loads through soil strata of low bearing capacity to deeper soil or rock having a higher bearing capacity. The method by which this occurs is the basis of the simplest pile type classification. We have two main Pile Types (Classification of Piles): 1. End-Bearing piles, 2. Friction (or floating) piles
