How can I make open ended activities non critical?

I unchecked the box in the Schedule Options window where it says: “Make Open-ended activities non critical” but with no luck, open ended activities always show on critical though in reality they are not, any suggestions? Thanks

Ideally, you should have all activities in your project schedule networked in some logical fashion, with the exception of start & completion milestones. When you do that, there will not arise a problem of "How can I make open ended activities non critical?".
