According to Building bye-laws, there would be regulations such that buildings in the urban areas have to leave a min of 8' towards the building beside and backside.These regulations are varied the urban development authorites(Ex: HUDA-Hyderabad Urban Development Authority).More gap is useful for ventilation purpose,fire extinguishing purposes etc...
