So now the market has started picking up, How Civil Engineering/Surveying companies are planning to handle their CAD work? Are they planning to outsource the CAD work? Over the years we have seen the number of CAD people necessary to do our civil engineering work decline. Most of the decline is due to the increasing use of software that incorporates both design and drafting. At one time we use to say that one engineer could keep three drafters busy. Not any more. Now engineers are more involved in the use of this software and have minimized the time needed for pure CAD work. We find it difficult to outsource CAD work because in order to be efficient we need to have a team that has worked together on past projects and has developed an efficient working relationship.
