Can concrete alone be used to install big signboard

A big signpost needs to be installedso I would like to know if digging trench and  using concrete alone without bold and nut will sufficiently hold the signpost

If you mean to do something like in this attached picture, so yes it is Ok to do that for smaller and nominal signboards. Proper footing and nut/bolt design may be required for large bill boards
